定义 · 7.1 黎曼流形与伪黎曼流形

在初等几何中，两个向量 $\mathbf{U}$ 与 $\mathbf{V}$ 之间的内积(inner product)定义为 $\mathbf{U}\cdot \mathbf{V}={\sum }_{i=1}^m{U}_i{V}_i$，其中 $U_i$ 与 $V_i$ 是这两个向量在 ${\mathbb{R}}^m$ 中的分量。而在流形上，内积是在每个切空间 $T_{p}M$ 上分别定义的。

In elementary geometry, the inner product between two vectors $\mathbf{U}$ and $\mathbf{V}$ is defined by $\mathbf{U}\cdot \mathbf{V}={\sum }_{i=1}^m{U}_i{V}_i$ where $U_i$ and $V_i$ are the components of the vectors in ${\mathbb{R}}^m$ . On a manifold, an inner product is defined at each tangent space $T_{p}M$ .
