反之，任一不变多项式 $P$ 都通过把 $P (t_{1} A_{1} + \dots + t_{r} A_{r})$ 展开为 $t_{i}$ 的多项式，而定义一个不变且对称的 $r$ 重线性形式 $\tilde{P}$ 。于是， $1/ r!$ 乘以 $t_{1} t_{2} \dots t_{r}$ 的系数按构造就是不变且对称的，它称为 $P$ 的极化(polarization)。以 $P (A) \equiv tr (A^{3})$ 为例。按照上述做法，我们把 $tr (t_{1} A_{1} + t_{2} A_{2} + t_{3} A_{3})^{3}$ 展开成 $t_{1}, t_{2}$ 与 $t_{3}$ 的幂。 $t_{1} t_{2} t_{3}$ 的系数为

Conversely, any invariant polynomial $P$ defines an invariant and symmetric $r$ -linear form $\tilde{P}$ by expanding $P (t_{1} A_{1} + \dots + t_{r} A_{r})$ as a polynomial in $t_{i}$ . Then $1/ r!$ times the coefficient of $t_{1} t_{2} \dots t_{r}$ is invariant and symmetric by construction and is called the polarization of $P$ . Take $P (A) \equiv tr (A^{3})$ , for example. Following the previous prescription, we expand $tr (t_{1} A_{1} + t_{2} A_{2} + t_{3} A_{3})^{3}$ in powers of $t_{1}, t_{2}$ and $t_{3}$ . The coefficient of $t_{1} t_{2} t_{3}$ is
