定义 · 2.4 微分形式

到目前为止，我们只考虑了光滑流形。有一个稍作推广的概念会很有用。我们以与流形相同的方式定义带边流形(manifold with boundary)，只是要求坐标卡映射为 $\varphi :\mathcal{O}\to U$，其中 U 是 ${\mathbf{R}}^{n+}:=:\{\{x^1,\dots ,x^n\}$ 的开子集，且满足 $x^n\ge 0\}$。该边界具有余维 1，记作 ∂M：它是坐标为 $x^n=0$ 的子流形。

Until now, we have considered only smooth manifolds. There is a slight generalisation that will be useful. We define a manifold with boundary in the same way as a manifold, except the charts map $\varphi :\mathcal{O}\to U$ where U is an open subset of ${\mathbf{R}}^{n+}:=:\{\{x^1,\dots ,x^n\}$ such that $x^n\ge 0\}$ . The boundary has co-dimension 1 and is denoted ∂M: it is the submanifold with coordinates $x^n=0$
