我们看到，视界之外的区域 $2GM<r<\infty$ 在新坐标下映为 $-\infty <r_{\star }<+\infty$。当我们趋近视界时，随着 $r_{\star }$ 的变化，r 的改变越来越缓慢（因为 $dr/d{r}_{\star }\to 0\mathrm{as}r\to 2GM.)$）。正因如此，它被称为龟坐标(tortoise coordinate)。（它有时也被称为Regge-Wheeler 径向坐标(Regge-Wheeler radial coordinate)。）

We see that the region outside the horizon $2GM<r<\infty$ maps to $-\infty <r_{\star }<+\infty$ in the new coordinate. As we approach the horizon, the change in r is increasingly slow as we vary $r_{\star }$ (since $dr/d{r}_{\star }\to 0\mathrm{as}r\to 2GM.)$ For this reason it is called the tortoise coordinate. (It is also sometimes called the Regge-Wheeler radial coordinate.)
