共形紧化

定义 · 4.4 时空的渐近行为

经过共形映射之后，当我们趋近 $\tilde{u},\tilde{v}\to \pm \pi /2$ 时，不会再出现任何糟糕的情况。习惯上，我们此时会把“无穷远点” $;{\mathrm{y}}^{†}$、$\tilde{u}=\pm \pi /2$ 和 $\tilde{v}=\pm \pi /2$ 添加上去，这一操作就叫做共形紧化(conformal compactification)。

After the conformal map, nothing bad happens as we approach $\tilde{u},\tilde{v}\to \pm \pi /2$ . It is customary to now add in the “points at infini $;{\mathrm{y}}^{†}$ , $\tilde{u}=\pm \pi /2$ and $\tilde{v}=\pm \pi /2$ , an operation that goes by the name of conformal compactification.
