位置空间传播子是作用于位置空间波函数的时间演化算符的核 $\mathcal{U}(t,q_t,q_0)$。它给出波函数在任意时刻 $t$ 的演化：

其中 $\psi (q_0,0)$ 是波函数在时刻 $0$ 的初始值。

Definition (Position space propagator)

The position space propagator is the kernel $\mathcal{U}(t,q_t,q_0)$ of the time evolution operator acting on position space wavefunctions. It determines the time evolution of the wavefunction at every time $t$:

$$\psi (q_t,t)={\int }_{-\infty }^{+\infty }U(t,q_t,q_0)\psi (q_0,0)d{q}_0\text{\hspace{1em}(12.4)}$$

where $\psi (q_0,0)$ is the initial value of the wavefunction at time $0$ .
