$M$ 上的 图册(atlas) 是一族图卡 $\mathcal{A}=\{(U_{\alpha },{\varphi }_{\alpha })|\alpha \in A\}$，使得坐标邻域 $U_{\alpha }$ 覆盖 $M,$，且该族中任意一对图卡都是 $C^{\infty }$ 相容的。若 $\mathbf{A}$ 与 ${\mathcal{A}}^{\prime }$ 是 $M$ 上的两个图册，则它们的并集 $\mathcal{A}\cup \mathcal{A}$ 也是。
