在闵可夫斯基型流形中，后一种情形称为零测地线(null geodesic)。$\mathrm{If}(M,g)$是黎曼空间，且$p=\gamma (0)\mathrm{then}g(X,X)=1$，而仿射参数$t$与沿测地线的距离参数相同。

In Minkowskian manifolds, the latter case is called a null geodesic. $\mathrm{If}(M,g)$ is a Riemannian space and $p=\gamma (0)\mathrm{then}g(X,X)=1$ and the affine parameter $t$ is identical with the distance parameter along the geodesic.
